**** If these were'nt so expensive I would love to combo this sucker up with fatal frenzy. slap down a firecat, brute force, then fatal frenzy, and what are you left with? A 20/1 trampler with haste. You could get it out on turn 3 or so even, if you're playing red green with elves or seething song. Yeah it's still vulnerable, hence the 4 stars, but there's not a lot of decks that could stop this turn 3 or 4. Very nasty card.

*** Oops. I meant Brute Force, not Reckless Charge

**** I put a deck to gether with these, ball lightning, spark elemental, hell spark elemental, lightning elemental, iron myr, and for added fun, reckless charge, double cleave and fling. It's lotsa fun to get a myr out, play a spark elemental, play a reckless charge on it, then fling it at your opponent before it gets sac'd. 12 damage on turn 3. not bad. Better than just playing a ball lightning or firecat.

***** It's not the ideal choice, but try this in a re-animator deck. Buried alive 3 of these and Patriarch's Bidding them all out, swing for 21 (barring un-forseen circumstances). If that doesn't kill your opponent then just re-animate them next turn since they go into the graveyard and turns end. If you draw one in your hand then play it's morph cost and get it on the board as a 2/2. Attack/block until it goes into the graveyard and then rince and repeat. It's definetly a blow that your opponent won't see coming...3-4 7/1 trample, haste creatures out in one turn.

***** play Teferi's Veil and it doesnt go away.. phases out..comes back next turn. score..

**** i'd give this 5 stars, but its 1 toughness does leave open to even the most pathetic burn spell. perfect with ball lightning, spark elemental and lightning serpent. and its cool cuz its a cat

***** best card ever

*** this card can be good but a lot of thing can get ridof it also remember that this is a one time use creature and even thought your opponent can take 5-6 domage, you have to have other things to defend youself after...

**** good card, works best in a deck with a large number of morph cards, so that your opponent always has to worry about what's under the morph... That said it does have it's drawbacks, like being totaly useless against a creature with first strike, and even the power of 7 can lead to problems with cards like chastise or ensnaring bridge... Lastly i should point out that it is actually worse than ball lightning because the lightning hits for 6 on the 2nd or 3rd turn, whereas here you have to wait untill the 3rd or 4th turn, and by then your opponents should be able to stop it.

**** it's a nice card, but people, it's not sooooooooo great... For crying out loud, a shock and it's gone, a firebolt, something with first strike, counterspels, there r soooooooooooooooooo many cards that woun't let it deal it's damage...

-- By DrkElf from Constanta, Romania on March 17, 2003

**** It's not all that great when your opponent plays a counter spell and it gone. BUT it's still a very nice card.

***** Ball lightning given a new lease on life. kicks ass

***** And people though Ball Lightning was amazing! When i first read spoilers for Onslaught, i thought this card had to be made up. But sure enough here it is, and let me tell you, this is probably one of the more broken red cards ever printed. I mean how often does a 2/2 creature insight fear in ones opponent, well when there's the chance its going to jump and and beat you in the dome for 7, it makes people think twice! I love this card, but i hate having to play against it!

***** Fire cats rock!

***** this card is amazing. you pull one of these out the first few turns, and your opponent is on his heels for the rest of the game. exactly like ball lightning, this card gets the job done quick, fast and in a hurry! I must have 3 more!

***** This guy absolutely owned the pre-release. It might as well be a 7 point burn spell. Like searing flesh, but for 4. He should be the pillar of a new type II sligh deck.

  -- By Tom from Brewster,NY,USA on October 10, 2002

***** this is sooooooooooooooooooooo much better than ball lightning. people who use them, watch out! theres a new card in town and its name is bliusyteringt firecat!
