***** Although I agree with people who say Wellwisher is the best for gaining life I have to say it comes close to Planeswalker Nissa Revane. One of her abilities allow you to add +2 Get 2 life for every Elf. So having one or the other for life gaining purpose is good. I run both in my Elf deck. Why? Well simply put this way. Once you have Nissa Revane up to 7 you can -7 and grab any number of Elf creatures from your library and put them onto the battlefield at no mana cost. I got to use that only once so far but it really matters not at all, she's a bonus in my Elf deck. I usually have my opponent beat by turn 4 but sometimes go to turn 6. So in conculsion, Wellwisher satisfies me, and my deck.

***** all my friends hated me for this card =P The Nissa Revane prototype xD @at MagicMasta it is said if you call yourself that and even such brilliant cards as the mox are wased on you if you cant even read this card

***** that one guy below me who said you only gain one life a turn is obviously autistic and can't read. really? you'd spend your sol ring and black lotus and five moxes on a stream of life to gain 9 life and you have a deck based on it? wow...ANYWAY wellwisher is an amazing card especially with cards like elvish prominade and imperious perfect. i've seen well over 10,000 life in a game with the tokens i've generated. By far one of the most UNDERrated cards in the game, right up there with dawnstrider.

***** A couple people mentioned Ambush commander, and I thought Elvish Promenade should also be mentioned. I also greatly enjoy throwing an alpha status on a Heedless One.

***** i read the guys review about how you gain one life per wellwisher and i just had to laugh and then i started gettin a little pissed... people giving low ratings on a card and they cant even read or spell "MASTER". now im not here to say it rules the elf world because my personal favorite is the tribal forcemage. morph for 1G and all creatures of the chosen type you control get +2/+2 and trample until end of turn. i do love this card though cause my friends use these all the time i use 4 goblin sharpshooter... its hilarious when they get 3 of them out i frop the sharpshooter.

***** lol, in elf vs elf this kicks major butt...and to the idiot that gave this one star, you have to put OTHER elves in your deck, not just this one...

-- By Greg from Atlanta, GA USA on June 13, 2008

***** This is a required card for any elf deck, and a great combination for Test of Endurance!

-- By Manda from North Carolina on April 10, 2008

*** wellwisher is a good card for any elf deck but one problem it can be easly destroied. only down side other then that it is a main key to gainning life also the way to do it is get a channel and a fireball and as long as you have gained some life it is pretty much game over for your oppenent

-- By the paridise kid from columbus, OH USA on February 14, 2008

***** Has to be the absolute best Elf card for life in an Elf deck, I have manage to gain 10k life without EVER decking out only due to it was an Elf VS Elf deck, Seeker of Skybreak x4 + Wirewood Lodge x4 + Wellwish x4 +An ass load of Elf in play = Maga Life. But I manage to get him only because I got bored and played my Nature's Revolt + Plague Wind combo and smashed his life do to I had 15 Elf having being pumped to 80+/80+, trust me folks, Elf VS Elf is NOT FUN, it is almost a wast of time.

-- By Jeramy LaVoye from Oroville, CA USA on November 17, 2007

***** I could easily get 200 life a turn with 4 of these things in my elf deck (And ROFL at 4 life per turn ["You gain 1 life for EACH ELF in play'] meaning if theres any other elf that adds another +1 life) Just use Ambush Commander and your other cards. but watch out for mass creature destructions because they could wipe out all of your land and thats game over for your. Highly under rated card a must for any elf deck.

***** magic masta is so stupid. 1 life PER ELF. a mediocre elf deck can have 20+ elves on the field at once, 4 wellwishers x 20 elves is 80 PER TURN. more if you have a wirewood lodge or two. stream of life is good for crap unless you have an infinite mana combo. 4 wishers is a must for any elf deck.

***** what about vitalizes and instill energy? tap her for life, untap her with seeker of skybreak, tap for life again, untap with instill energy, vitalize, tap her for life again, untap with seeker of skybreak again, and finally tap for life again. throw in some wirewood lodges and you have some insane amount of life, especially with a seedborn muse do it during your opponents turn.

***** Awesome lifegiving elf after a couple Llanawars and Priest of Titania have come out....3 or 4 life per turn....fantastic.

-- By Anonymous from New york state on April 28, 2006

***** Once again..people thinking small....you have 4 of these beauties in an elf deck..throw in ambush commander (all forrests are 1/1 elves).....and maybe priest of titania? (tap to gain 1 green for each elf in play) You can gain around 75 likfe a turn when you have alot of mana out. Need I mention throwing in some fireballs to pump alllll that mana in to? Owie

***** i absolutly love this card i have gained tons of life from only one of them averaging around 50 life to 100 life

-- By jeremy burr from springfield,oh on May 25, 2004

***** umm i read the reviews and i don't know who the ediot is that said u can only gain 1 life a turn with this card is but he needs to learn how to read.. . . . 1 life for each elf in play! This card is awesome but harsh on ur opponents. It's an essential in a good elf deck. but don't take my word for it go ahead and get one ur self

-- By John Berrey from Ocala, FL usa on March 30, 2004

**** great card i get lots of life doing this but #4 and 5 has to think you can just get cards to regenerate them

-- By Anonymous from clear lake, WI USA on January 25, 2004

***** 4 wellwishers = 16 life, without your whole complicated stream of life combo! Throw in some wirewood lodges, some more elves, and a wirewood symbiote, and you're cookin'!

  -- By Idiot-Basher from FL on September 28, 2003

**** On its own its not to good but combined with Wirewood Channeler and Pemmins Aura thats a lot different...

  -- By Anonymous from U.S on September 12, 2003

***** I love this card. It has saved me the most times out of any card I can remember. It's great with a few wirewood lodges in play, and its low mana cost allows you to start gaining life from the second turn on. Also, another good combo is Seedborn Muse +Wellwisher+Wirewood lodges. It allows you to create life twice as fast.

-- By Adam from FL on September 01, 2003

***** Before you get your eldamri out, use seeker of skybreak with this baby.... ahhhh lots of life...what a good feeling!

  -- By D from NE on February 01, 2003

* 1 life a turn? you can only have 4 of these in a deck even if by chance you draw all 4 each will only give 4 life, i grant that life gain is the most overpowered aspect of Magic The Gathering, but even then, some cards just dont make the cut. I'd much rather use sacred nectar, as much life as all 4 wellwishers would give me or, for green, natural spring or stream of life. I have a stream of life deck, with my sol ring, lotus, and all 5 moxes i get 9 life! 'nuff said?

-- By Magic Masta from Magic City on January 16, 2003

** Well well well what do we have here? An elf that taps for life.

-- By well from wisher on December 17, 2002

***** way under rated

-- By Anonymous from dsajkadh on December 14, 2002

***** This card is Great for Elf Decks. I've gained up to 3000 health with these babies and I don't intend on getting rid of them.

-- By Magnolia Fan from East Providence, RI USA on November 27, 2002

***** Saves my but very often. I hade over 500 lifes.
