**** Avatar of Hope + Shield of Kaldra= Can't die by normal creatures.

**** Get in a bad situation, drop this card, and put an Inviolability on it and you've neutralized a creature onslaught for 4 mana, over and over again.

***** Someone gave it to me, it's awesome, it's saved me plenty of times and it swings for 4 evasive damage :D

***** This is my favorite card. I got it 4 my b-day. Then somone stole it. SORRY for the story. Amazing card!

**** This card is great for drastic situations. But if you're ever caught with 3life (or less) you will probably die next turn. This card is especially good with some enhancment cards, as sson as you bring its toughness up, it will be nearly unstoppable (but you have to feel bad for your opponent you playing. Imagin what they're thinking).

**** So-so, a good creature, cost is a bit much, but in a tight situation (LIKE YOUR SUPPOSE TO USE IT) it can save you. But if you want pretty much invincibility, just add Heart of light to it

***** If i could give it more i would. This card can save you in any case but especially if you are low on health. I have never seen a card that could freeze your opponents field like this one. If it does nothing else it will at least buy you enough time to get other better (for attacking) cards out to fight back. The only downside is that without being low on health it costs a fortune to get out and usually once your opponent gets you down to 3 health he will finish you off. But it is still worth the cost of 8 taps and will definitally save at least one fight for anyone who gets it.

* I HATE THIS CARD! i like 9/9 cards!

* this is a worse card. i likr 9/9 cards

***** Sure it cost alot of mana but when you get it out you will have a big blocking creature!

***** I've had the AVATAR OF HOPE for 3 years now and let me tell you this card has saved my ass so many times I can't count'em.My AVATAR OF HOPE was my very first card I ever had.So far I have racked up 69 kills with my

***** This is amazing, it almost makes you invincible. It is good in black and white deck which makes you sacrifice life.

-- By from Wales on April 29, 2004

**** very good card that should be used in big creature decks. If you are going to play this card i suggest you use elvish pipers because once you get this cards out with a couple of other cards you will be almost unbeatable. Not the greatest card in the world but if played right it has unlimited potential.

***** this card is very good i think the 2nd worst avatar only to will but all the avatars kick but if i had this card i would not wait to put it is play cheap when you have like no life in this deck but a good card to combined this with would be lure so if u attack they all block avatar of hope and it wont die because of its high defense also i might want to make this card black so they cant kill it with a spell

*** This card is ok. THough its a 4/9 flying its other ability (3 life or less gets it into play for 2 mana) is pretty much useless. I mean the only way you'd have less than 8 mana buy the time u have only three life was if you were getting clobbered buy a deck, usaully by fast effects and mutiple creatures, which means even if you do get it out, your pretty much dead anyway. I would not put this card in my deck.

-- By Mr. Magic from USA on October 16, 2002

***** This is one of the best avatars! All you have to do is play it with a worship and you can get it out for 2 plains easily!

-- By Anonymous from New York, NY USA on July 08, 2002

*** This avatar is the worst. The hardest to get out. no great abilities. I much rather put in a reya dawnbringer in my deck than avatar of hope.

-- By master of the avatars from band,OR on April 10, 2002

** This card is not very good people. A wall of glare and mother of runes will be more than enough defense for only 3 mana. If you are at 3 life you are probably playing a Negator or Stompy deck and they will either snuff her out or pump up their creatures and kill her really fast, you guys make the call.

-- By Anonymous from MN on March 31, 2002

***** This card is simply a gardian angel. Sure you can wait and try to bring this bad boy out, with it's high casting cost. But when you need it the most that's when it comes in handy. When I'm playing and I get knocked down to 3 life or even 5 for that matter, I begin worrying. But with this you can relax a little;a 4/9 that can block as many creatures as you want for a casting cost of 2 plains if you wait for the right time, and thats not including any enchantments that you choose to put on it. Sure it can be killed easily but if your duling creature to creature combat this card makes it a breeze. So as an experienced magic player I highly suggest that you use this card not only in your decks but for collecting as well.
