No, they didn't make this card before. Ressurection is white, and therefore almost unplayable in zombie decks. This card is good because there are no side effects. No hidden costs, sacrifices and "pay life" requirements. It's plain and simple, and fits into many decks easily due to its straightforward manacost. Sure, you could use Soul Exchange, but why not just use Reanimate or Life / / Death? - sacrificing a creature is way too slow: your opponent can do all sorts of things to kill your creature before you get to sac it >_>

I love this card: it's hilarious. Turn 1 steam vents, flamekin harbinger up a supreme exemplar (that's optional), turn 2 island, prismatic lens, turn 3 careful consideration, which draws you a zombify and discards your angel of despair, simic sky swallower, demigod of revenge, or your supreme exemplar which you might have fetched on turn one. I prefer the sky swallower, because of trample and shroud, and an evasive ability; angel of despair is second best because you can take down one of your opponent's lands or flying chump blockers, however it's likely to be unmaked (unmade?). If you play the consideration during your opponent's turn and if you get a pretty lucky draw, you can discard two demigods, and draw the zombify for a turn 5 win; your demigods can't be terrored or shriekmaw'd because they're black, and since psionic blast in pretty much the only way to deal 4 damage, they're likely to win; plus, they're only on the field for two turns before your opponent dies. mass removal is bad, but if you're playing this deck it's gonna be 1.5, and so you can solve the problem of darnation/wrath of god by *Remand* (force spike is possible, too). even if your opponent *does* kill one of your demigods, you'll still probably kill your opponent with the other one. i could go on for pages about how hard it is for your opponent to win against a deck like this that's built around zombify. im not, though. zombify is also just as good in a standard dredge deck. maybe even better...=D oh well...5 stars!

This card is simply amazing. Throw it in a dredge deck and pop out a Sister's of Stone Death on turn 4. Oh yeah. This card is highly underated.

It's especially funny when your opponent has finally destroyed a creature of yours using a grand strategy, and you play this spell when it's all over. It can create moments as anticlimactic as those that are described in Zombify's flavour text.

this card is amazing in a well-constructed deck. sure, people say that if it was printed a lot sooner you could bring back shivan dragons, etc. but even now it's amazing. you can bring back keiga, angel of despair (now that's amazing!), or whatever you can come up with.

return a creature not just to your hand but back to PLAY! who can argue except an opponent (a smart one would change the target of this spell to make it beneficial to him or her........is this a clue?)

Im sorry, but the people above me arent really thinking about the potential of this great card. Lets say you have a great creature in your hand, but its only turn 4, and it costs like 8 mana. You discard it and then play zombify, BOOM, its out for only 4 mana!
