***** Amazing card. Bloodghast + Skullclamp + plenty of lands = huge card advantage.

***** Sure, it got banned, but surely that doesn't prevent people from playing with it? So what if you can't use it in tournaments - magic is still a game you can play for fun at your local MTG store :P

***** whoever said it's tied with jitte is wayyyy off! Jitte lets you control the board, skullclamp just... lets you win. >:D like previously said it got banned. :(

***** Oh man, I love this card. I used to run it in a deck with affinity creatures, 'Thopters, Genesis Chambers and Auriok Steelshapers. Every time I played a free creature I got like 8 cards for free. I also had a Myr Retriever + Grinding Station + Tangleroot combo that let me mill infinitely. The only colored cards in the whole deck were thoughtcast and the 'shaper. BAH-roken. But awesome.

**** hey skullclamp is wicked.... FOW is sick sick sick.......but mana drain is also an uncommon....... OUCH ? and so was strip mine. doesn't everyone love strip mines legal days when you could have 4 of them AND 4 black vise (also uncommon)? that deck to THIS DAY IF it were legal......would still kill anything + 4 sinkhole..... It was just unfair, thus the restrictions .... lol i loved that deck (nether voids) lol

*** SKULLCLAMP+DREDGE=WIN

***** ahh skullclamp. what were they thinking? seriously

-- By Kyle from urborg on March 18, 2008

*** hmm not really great.most people dont see the flaw that you cant equip it to an opponent.the card clearly states you must equip to a creature you control.

-- By me from usa on August 09, 2007

**** force of will was the best uncommon, but this is pretty good too!

-- By Anonymous from minneapolis on February 23, 2007

*** Ah Skullclamp, we hardly knew ye. This is the single most broken card in the Mirrodin block, at an uncommon too! This card can create tremendous card advantage for nearly any deck. It is one of the greatest cards in the game, but why is it so cheap if it's that good? If anyone was around when Darksteel came out you know how powerful this card was. The problem was it was everywhere. Just about every deck had Skullclamp or had a way to destroy it. It was just too unhealthy for the format for it to exist. Because of all the trouble it caused, it was banned in every format except for Vintage (Type 1) where it is not very useful. If you are a tournament player, you will likely not be able to use this card because it is banned. But for you casual players out there, do not hesistate to pick up this card. It works wonders in all sorts of decks, especiall elves and goblins.

***** Tied with Umezawa's Jitte for the position of best equipment printed. As stated above, allows for insane card advantage. Low cost also helps in affinity based decks, but, as the card states, you can only equip it on creatures you control, so you can't use it to kill other players creatures as someone above thought. Still, this card can find a place (4 places in fact) in any deck that has creatures and could benefit from some card advantage (just about every deck). Too bad it's been banned in just about every sanctioned format there is except casual play of course.

**** i agree it is quite the card. but you cannot use it on your opponents creatures. because in the text it says to equip a creature you control. it also cannot be removed from a creature unless the creature dies. and you cannot use shrapnel blast because the shrapnel blast has a faster spell speed and you would sac the artifact creature before it gets equipped and you would not draw the two cards. i use it myself with multanis alcolyte to draw three cards for three mana. and if you get tons of mana like i do in my deck early in the game keep using cheap creatures to draw you extra cards untap all of your lands with rude awakening and use inner calm outer strength to pump a creature. i use it on a silhana ledge walker and if they are playing with flyers ,fist of ironwood comes in handy plus you can use the saps for card drawing. but unfortunately you cannot use it in all formats.

-- By ANDY T. from LAWTON ,OK on April 17, 2006

*** And I must point out to some of the...others earlier that you can't equip it to your opponent's creatures.

-- By erik peters from mooga on July 12, 2005

**** if u play against black zombies with 1 toughness and a lot of power u can simply kill all of them for 1 mana each! and u also draw 2 cards 4 each! kicks ass! against goblins in the begining it works well too but later when the enemy gets his big goblins it becomes much more useless... against elves.. its ok.. most elves have 2 toughness... you can put that card in ANY deck and it will work very well

-- By vik from CA on April 10, 2005

** Okay, yeah, I can understand killing off a weak creautre with this card, like and Arcbound Worker, but why all the fuss..making it illegal? I do not fully understand, it's just a little ol' card that allows you to draw two cards, wow, i've seen much worse.

-- By Andrew from Smithville, TN USA on February 11, 2005

**** You can only equip Skullclamp to creatures you control so it won't help you any against Goblin or WW decks. It is very nice in casual :D

-- By Zach from Minnesota on February 03, 2005

***** Just cause its banned doesn't mean anything. Look at Yawgmoths will, bargain, Necropotance, tinker, voltaic key etc..even restricted in vintage, they still see play in the top decks in the world championships..when done correctly, the clamp can compete against Draw7...

-- By Anonymous from Mass on November 14, 2004

* I agree with all of you, this card is awesome. Unfortunatly, it has been banned in almost every tournament format for many months now.

-- By Geoff Ivison from Ny, NY USA on November 08, 2004

***** OMG this card is such a powerhouse, why havent they restricted this in T1 yet??!?!?! Carnival of souls + clamp and Kobolds = death on turn one with a Tendrils of Agony which you will draw...

-- By Anonymous from Massachusetts on November 05, 2004

***** Get a Myr Retreiver into the graveyard. Get a second one, a Dross Scorpion, a Skullclamp, and a Gilded Lotus into play. Tap that Lotus, equip the Myr, sack it, draw two cards, untap Lotus, return the other Retiever to your hand, summon it, tap the Lotus.... H a h a! And it's legal, too!

-- By Miklaren Tarvin from Holly Pond. AL USA on October 19, 2004

***** i can think of so many good things for this card, i cant even begin to tell ya!

-- By ron from Vancouver, WA on September 19, 2004

***** this card can devastate an opponant: great on your creatures, better on theirs. can stop an elf or goblin dreck dead. (litteraly!)

-- By Anonymous from England on September 05, 2004

***** Equip an ornithopter with this: you make a flier blocker and draw 2 cards! Repeat this process with more ornithopters and other creatures and watch your opponent cry!

-- By Anonymous from Lisbon, Portugal on April 14, 2004

***** Great combo card! Some say it could be one of the best uncommons! you can use it to kill the creatures and draw cards getting mass cardage and, if u get cards to give u mass mana you could win as soon as you play it.

-- By from USA on April 02, 2004

***** This card is the best i go to magic tournaments all the time and its really good in them any kind they are good in they make a total difference in a deck im 13 and a average good magic player.

-- By mike staton from naples fl usa on March 16, 2004

**** personally i believe that this card is one of the best uncommons i've seen in a while. This card works well with many different types of cards such as shrapnel blast by equipping skullclamp to an artifact creature, and using shrapnel blast to sacrafice the creature to do 5 damage to a creature or palyer and draw 2 cards because the creature died. =)

-- By Vincent from Richland, WA USA on February 19, 2004

***** Incredible card capable of generating amazing card advantage. With this, Wrath effects and other destruction are less painful for sure.
