This deck regularly beats any of the other pre-con theme decks from its edition, and it has enough power to beat decks from Kamigawa and Ravnica straight out of the box. This is a great base for a black/blue deck with direct damage and powerful creatures, especially if you add in a few more fliers. -- By Joshua M. from High Point, NC on July 11, 2006 |

The creatures in the deck are quite good, but when you equip them, they become unstoppable! Start the game with your blockers, boost them up so your opponent won't know what to do to get past them, then wait until you draw whipersilk cloak or loxodon warhammer and equip it on a dross crocodile! There is also good black destruction spells, and acquire is really awesome when used against an artifact deck. The deck is a bit slow, though, and needs lots of mana to work well. It's a good anti-artifact deck, even though it's an artifact deck. But since nobody plays with artifacts anymore, i recommend removing some cards like emissary of despair and shattered dreams and replace them with good flying creatures, because there is not enough of them in it. Anyway, it's a strong deck, and it's worth buying for all those equipments! -- By Anonymous from Canada on June 27, 2008 |
