This installment of the Saltmarsh saga was designed to bridge the first adventure to the last; in a minimal sort of way it does. But it requires a very clever, and ambitious, DM to create not only the atmosphere around this little community and the "adventures" within, but the whole world itself. The series, on the whole, is flat--but that's good; it allows the DM to expand and extrapolate to create a campaign as grand or bland as he or she cares. But on a one for one exchange, this adventure is weak on action, reward, and story. -- By The Happy Hobbit from Sun City, CA USA on April 25, 2007 |
