| Talisman - The Magical Quest Game
Since it was first published in 1983 Talisman has gained a world-wide following. Editions have been published under license as far afield as Israel, and Australia. Though it is not in print at the moment, it is still being played all over the world.
This is the 1st Edition. It is almost EXACTLY the same game as the 2nd edition. All cards, spells, characters, rules and board spaces are the same.
Here are the differences:
all adventure cards, spell cards and purchase cards are only colored on the back side. The front of the cards are in black and white, but the design is the same.
instead of the 4 piece jigsaw-style board in 2nd edition, this edition contains a standard one-piece folding gameboard.

In Talisman, you assume the role of 1 of 14 Fantasy-characters and travel through a mystic world in order to discover magic artefacts. Your character grows stronger and wiser by discovering new items, meeting new companions and by fighting against the many evil monsters which populate the world of Talisman. In the end, when you think that your character is strong enough, you might try to solve the voyage to the Crown of Command. If you should succeed the ardous journey, you must take the Crown and use it to defeat all the other players. The game contains a large variety of random cards like events, monsters, followers, gold and other objects and you can also buy equipment like swords, shields, helmets or mules. Furthermore, each character has different abilities for different game situations. Due to the high number of available cards, no two games are alike, and many events can happen to the players while on their journey.
