It's ok if you dont use any of your land. -- By Anonymous from Chico, CA USA on September 15, 2005 |

This card has an interesting and unique ability at the very least. Of all the thousands of creatures is Magic, I don't think any of them have the ability Ben-Ben, Akki hermit has. That being said, his individuality is not necessarily a good thing. He's too specialized to be tossed into a Goblin deck, since you'll be using most of your mana on your creatures. Nor would he sit too well in sligh, since most of your opponents creatures won't live long enough to attack you. Ben-Ben is one of those creatures that is simply too much of an oddball to fit into a deck. He's a little over costed (2RR) and underpowered (1/1). If he were a (2/2) I might consider placing him in my goblin deck.
In limited, however, he wouldn't be a bad choice of a card. After all, he's a reusable form of creature removal-if you have enough mountains. I see no reason not to play him.
I have to give him 2 stars, because while I love the card, it just isn't very effective. -- By Matt Thompson from Gadsden, AL on April 18, 2006 |
