***** This card is annoying for black creature. The mana cost is little big (4BB), but the problem is that black has a lot of mana accelerators like Dark Ritual, etc. And if you splash green, it madness. I don't mind 5/5 flying for 4BB and can drain 5 life when it dies, but the legendary rule make this creature more epic... attack with it and cast the second kokusho to blow up 15 damages and you get 10 life. This creature must be handled with some removal spells (especially white), like STP, PTE, Oblivion Ring, etc.

***** Have anyone mentioned this combo?: Kokusho + Goryo's Vengeance + Greater Good - sacrifice Kokusho to draw cards with Greater Good, then reanimate it with Goryo's Vengeance, attack someone and then sacrifice Kokusho to Greater Good once again. You deal 5 damage to one player, 10 (life loss) damage to all opponent and gain 10 life for each opponent... and if you wind up with 2 or more Kokushos in your grave, you could begin to use Goryo's Vengeance's Splice into Arcane ability to get even more out of your cards (Splice into Arcane = card advantage)

***** Awesome! Attach Deathrender, devour it with Predator Dragon (or it and some goblins with Voracious to deal even more damage), put Bladewing the Risen into play with Deathrender's ability which returns Kokusho from the grave and bam: deal 5 gain 5 and get a 6/6, 5/5 and 7/7 haste dragon into play all for 4 mana if you also have out a Dragonspeaker Shaman (or the cost of the devourer if not).

***** wow! attack and rite of consumption...thats 15 damage at your opponent, and gain ten life. this is a fine card to dragonstorm with, even if bogardan hellkites do the damage when they come into play instead of leave...this is life gain!

***** This and Yosei, the Morning Star are some of the best Dragons I have seen. The artwrok is beautiful too. Amazing what some of these artist can produce.

***** THIS TO ME IS PROB THE BEST CREATURE EVER...I REALLY THINK IT SHOULD BE RESTRICTED..

***** Kiki jiki doesn't target legends.......I had a deck that REGULARLY had Kokusho out turn 3...(boring two-paragraph long combo description involving mana ramping and big dragons). The loss of life from pain mana sources is quickly overcome and with Gleancrawler giving you back both Kokushos when you play the second you really can't go wrong. This deck even managed to drop sisters of stone death on turn 4 in type 2 tournament but anyways Kokusho is hands down my favorite Mtg card and probably always will and Ive been playing since '94

***** Lol. Whell what i do is just play this card sacrifice it or suwaside attacks (-5 life) then play my revive card( i have like 6 diffrent revive types of cards so i just repeat this process and eventually i kill them that plus my life leach spells. ; )

-- By Shadow1213 from Columbus GA USA on August 23, 2005

***** I have a T2 reanimation deck for Magic Online. I have 4 of these bad boys in there and I have won the game as early as turn 4. And no it wasnt because my opponent conceded either. Kokusho is just that good.

-- By Invincible from Hodge, La USA on July 05, 2005

***** on its own, its one of the most broken cards in the Champions set... however, it costs a converted 6 mana... don't get me wrong, the ability owns in a sac or reanimate deck, but with so many good counterspell/direct damage/tap/bounce cards, it can be a pain in the butt to use... especially when it gets Boomeranged or countered or something like that. SO... my point is this: this card alone deserves 5 stars (or more!) alone, as it is the most powerful dragon and the new legends rule... however, use it carefully.

-- By Anonymous from Claremont, CA on May 04, 2005

***** In a red and black deck this would be like a highlight creature for that deck. 5 points of damage, that can be a game winner.

-- By Tyler McCloud from Prattsville, Ar USA on April 27, 2005

***** in my opinion, this is the best of the five dragons out of kamigawa, it's the only one that can kill your opponent if they kill it, lotsa fun sacing it to death cloud, it'll be a staple in black decks as long as kamigawa block is in type 2.

-- By mr. smith from the matrix on March 09, 2005
