| The Griffin (Gryphon) is a legendary creature with the head, beak and wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. Its origin lies somewhere in the Middle East where it is found in the paintings and sculptures of the ancient Babylonians, Assyrians and Persians. In Greek mythology, they took gold from the stream Arimaspias and, neighbors of the Hyperboreans, they belonged to Zeus. Griffins were frequently used as gargoyles on medieval churches and buildings as well. This Plush Griffin is a whopping 13 inches tall and 12 inches long. |

I think Gryphons are awsome. -- By Cassie from Meritt Island, FL USA on June 21, 2006 |

I received this as an “early” Christmas present from someone. I adore it. I love griffins, and was so excited to receive a plush one =). The only problem I noticed was a little tear at one of the seams. I don’t know if this was anyone’s fault (I doubt it was) and I fixed it quickly since it was so miniscule. The griffin is adorable and larger than I thought it would be. -- By Fenchurch from SC, USA on December 19, 2006 |
