| 1990 - Standard Box
Featuring six of the most popular games ever published in DRAGON Magazine. They weren't quite big enough to put in boxes individually, so they were revised, given brand new components and all were put inside this box.
The Baton Races of Yaz
A "race game" with a twist - you and your opponent rush batons around the playing field, trying to break all of your "bulges" before the other side succeeds.
File 13
Ever wondered how a game company operates, and what it's like to be a professional game designer? Wonder no more - File 13 answers all your questions.
King's Table
A strategy game that's centuries old: One side tries to capture the king, while the other tried to get the king off the board to safety. Five ways to play, with different sizes of boards and numbers of pieces.
Search for the Emperor's Treasure
Travel the lands of Emperor Baldan, fighting monsters and exploring for treasure. When all of the emperor's treasures are found, the player with the most riches wins!
Ringside
Pick a boxer from history, or create your own fighter, and try to take him all the way to the championsyhip without getting knocked out.
Food Fight
Lob a slice of pizza, toss a plate of goo... and watch out for that teacher who's sneaking up on you! All the flavor of cafeteria combat, but no real mess to clean up when you're done.

I haven't played any of the games but Search for the Emperor's Treasure, one of my all-time faves. They've improved some of the rules since the original publication, but the new map's artwork is pretty lame. Also, the rules could have been organized a little more intuitively. Still, I'm grateful that I was able to replace my long-lost original copy of SET so that I could turn on my wife to the game. -- By J. McCrackan from Evanston, IL USA on December 05, 2006 |
