It is an excellent game of strategy, guile and bluff. DUNE requires concentration, patience and a bit of luck. You never know how long the game will last from 2 moves in 15 minutes or 15 moves in 3 hours. With all this no two games are identical. Each character has their own attributes yet these can be negated by the others as the balance of power shifts. You have to play it to discover how subtle it is.
This version of Dune is easily the best game I have ever played, and I've played a lot of games. We played it at University from 1980-1984 almost every day for 6-8 hours a day.By not using some rules like bribery and alliances we were able to create an amazingly balanced game for 6 players.
If you want to know what we call the TTN rules I am more than happy to make them available. Warning; you may become addicted but trust me you will enjoy it. We went through three DUNE sets in those 5 years.
