* Funny card, but I know that if somebody beat me with this card, I would have to hurt him. I might even quit playing magic all together.
-- By Tom Burton from Maebashi, Japan on November 14, 2001
* now why would anyone have 200 or more card in his or her library..isnt the maxium 60 cards...correct me if im wrong...this would only work in a home game in a long campaign..but oh well..
-- By Garrett M from Bismarck, North Dakota, USA on November 19, 2001
**** this card would seriously have to be one of the cheapest for those long games. Of course its completely useless in most tourneys.
-- By Pej J from San Jose, CA on November 27, 2001
*** Very funny. If they did allow it into tournoments they would have to revize their rules. I mean 200 cards in your library?!?!?
-- By Anonymous from Salt Lake City, UT USA on December 08, 2001
* YOu think it sux now just wait tell your forced to take it in a pack draft because some idiot picked oddesey, thats when you hate this card one star because i had to.
-- By Anonymous from Nephi, UT, USA on January 20, 2002
** Reminds me of unglued......
-- By Lee from Albany NY USA on February 06, 2002
* this card belongs in an unglued expantion
-- By Danniel DeLorme from Beatty OR USA on February 10, 2002
***** A lot of you have it wrong... the MINIMUM size of a deck is 60 cards. The maximum is several million (all the basic lands in the world plus 4 of everything except basic lands.) You can build a 220-250 card deck with 4 Battle of Wits and everything except the kitchen sink to search for it (OK, you should probably stay away from Demonic Consultation in this deck, but everything else!) You can get it with any creature search card (via Academy Rector) and any instant search card (via Enlightened Tutor).
-- By Nate from The Universe on March 02, 2002
*** extremely funny card, but whats the point when the max. card limit in your library is 60-80.
-- By Anonymous from Denmark on March 12, 2002
***** If this card sucks so bad then why is battle of wits one of the main T2 contenders, and why did a deck by that name make quarter finals in MASTERS???
-- By Anonymous from Cleveland, OH USA on March 13, 2002
* Jigga What? 200 CARDS!!!!!!!!! Really a very useless card, I really don't think it should have ever been made in an otherwise splendid expansion. 200 CARDS!!!!!!!!!!
-- By The Ascendant Evincar from CA, USA on March 27, 2002
**** Just to straighten everyone out on the rules: The minimum number of cards in a magic deck is 40, however most constructed deck tournaments increase the minimum to 60. I believe, but I am not posotive, that there must be exactly 60 cards in a legal tournament deck. However, it could have no maximum, it's one of the two. The card, I admit, can be quite useful but winning that way, just isn't my style.

***** Great card! You can easily play 240 good cards and with the wishes coming it's even better. It's broken in every format from type 1 to block. Why is this still a $2 card? I won a 112 person standard tournament with it, and the only time someone played it in a grand prix it made the top eight. troll and toad is sold out of them at $5 but they are the only ones. I guess they have the smartest buyer around.

***** the wizard who read thousand books is powerful the wizard who memorice thousand books is invencible

**** Madness.Pure madness
  -- By Stuart M from Dunfermline,Scotland on June 15, 2002
***** HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I beat my friend 3rd turn with this card!!! 1st turn - lotus, tundra, enlightened tutor, search for this... second turn, draw it, play some blue dual land, sac lotus and play it, then wait for the next turn... my 234 card fruity pebble deck on Apprentice is pretty amusing...
-- By The HybriD from Here on November 16, 2002
***** I agree! The above people are idiots who know nothing of strategy. If you have 24(legal) search cards in a 240 card deck, you have a 1 out of 10 chance to draw a winning card, and 7 out of 10 to draw in your first hand! Also, you can put 3 battle of the wits in your deck and one in your sideboard, then use four golden wishes!
-- By Anonymous from San Jose, CA on December 20, 2002
***** For one thing, there is no maximum card limit, just a minimum. If you can shuffle your deck acceptably (and believe me, this one's no fun one to shuffle), then you can use it. There IS a minimum card limit of 40 in sealed deck and 60 in constructed.
-- By ryanbee34 from Franklin, PA on April 22, 2003
***** This is what makes the basically-no-upper-card-limit of Magic decks absolutely grand :D
-- By Erica from CA, USA on December 26, 2003
***** good card...you people need to learn your rules...60 is the minimum a deck can have...feel free to have 200+ cards...and anyone ever hear of prismatic? you need one helluva lotta cards to build a prismatic deck.
-- By Anonymous from Svalbard on January 04, 2005
***** THis card can be a real help. There are some cards that let you search your library for any card. If you draw a mystic tutor than you can use it to get a diabolic tutor. then you use it to search for this card and you win the game. I don't know why so many people don't like this card.
-- By Anonymous from Holland on March 22, 2005
***** Most of you people are idiots why the hell would they print this legal if u couldn't have more than 60 cards....learn the rules?
-- By Jon Q from Hudson Falls, NY on July 23, 2005
***** riddle me this: how many cards can you have in your deck?? i thought it was only 60?
-- By Anonymous from Muncie, IN USA on July 31, 2005
***** If Nate is right, then watch out FNM here I come!
-- By Anonymous from Ohio on August 09, 2005
***** i am going to find a way to use this card in tournaments.... if you think you got a decklist for this card email me Joshua
  -- By Joshua from chicago,il on September 16, 2005
** You can play with as many cards as you want to as long as you have 60 or more in tournament format or 40 or more in non-tournament play. This is not a very serious card, but come on... How many cards have text that say "you win the game."? No matter how unlikely it is that you will draw this card with a HUGE deck like that, if you do get lucky this is the ultimate powerhouse card. I agree that this should be an unglued card and Wizards shouldn't continue to print it. If I got one in a booster or whatever, I'd be po'ed.
-- By Kristen P from Madison, WI on December 20, 2005
***** this card is hella good my friend built a deck around it and he has never lost a game with(well ok he lost a game to me with my mill deck) it i see him at touny all the time with this deck and no one can att him unless u pay 2-16 mana its juat too evil even my wall deck lost whats the world coming to.
  -- By old foggi from 2000 B.C on April 02, 2006
***** Great card for casual play. Seriously, the look on your friend's faces when you sit down with a 220+ card deck (and all in sleeves, of course) is priceless. Lots of card drawing/ searches (Managra's tome, parrellel thoughts, ect) and you'll have a blast. Its the thrill of trying :) Fun card to build a deck around. And with 220 cards, you might as well throw in all that stuff you "always wanted to use, but just couldn't bring yourself to do it" Only real trick is shuffling your library each time your done searching it, lol.
-- By Erik from WA state on January 03, 2008
**** Coolest card ever!
-- By Ben Johnson from Leesport, PA USA on March 11, 2008
***** Holy crap, this is pathetic, like 1/3 of these reviews are "umm...but I thought I could have at most 60 cards in my deck..." Come on people!! 60 is minimum in Constructed, and probably the best way to go unless you use this card...Think about it: why would Wizards *print* this card if you could only have 60 cards in your deck?? Yeah that's right!!
