Based on the original novel by Robert Heinlein, the two movies and the Roughnecks Chronicles animated series, this is a game of high-octane excitement, danger and glory on the battlefields of far-off star systems.
By playing Starship Troopers, you can create a character who lives both in the far future as well as in your own imagination and that of your friends. There are three routes into Starship Troopers – the original novel, the two films or the Roughnecks Chronicles TV animated series. It is very likely that, as a roleplayer, you will be familiar with at least one of these. The Starship Troopers roleplaying game is based mainly on the Roughnecks series though it also draws heavily on the novel. You will also find many elements from the two films included. So, if you are a ‘Heinlein Purist’, as they sometimes like to be called, you will be happy to find power armour, orbital drops and the central philosophy that ran right through the original novel.
The basic game will give players the chance to join the Mobile Infantry and serve the Earth. More advanced players might like to try their hand as Fleet officers or even ordinary civilians, exploring the politics of the United Citizens’ Federation. In short, there is a whole galaxy to explore.
