In 1979 as a kid I bought up a few boxes of the first boxed sets and have kept them in plastic wraps in mint condition. My buddies who were all about 14 or 15 at the time told me I was nuts and that they would be worthless in 30 years. Well, I never got rich of these sets as in 1980 they sold for 10.00 and now are going for about 60.00$ most places but my original boxed set gets a lot of comments. The other day a kid of about 11 saw my set and thought it was cool and I told him it was from the 70's and I had it when when I was just a bit older than him-His eyes got big and he said You mean it is over 30 YEARS OLD!" That made me chuckle and feel a bit old. Anyway,these old sets are hard to find and I would guess I own a good chunk of them as I suspect there are less than 200 original sets like this in original wraps in the world though their are thousands in bad condition that have been opened elsewhere.
