By far the sickest card out there for saporling decks. Tokens will run rampent, i fear the power of white/green with the ravnica cycle. -- By Namelessbob from Daytona, FL on February 03, 2006 |

if you have doubling season, honden of cleansing fire, honden lifes web and scion of the wild, each turn you gain; 8 life, 4 1/1 clorless spirit tokens and scion of the wild gets +8/+8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after 5 turns your at 60 life, you have 20 1/1 tokens in play and scion is a 40/40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it all gets bigger and bigger and bigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- By Anonymous from jfhgfhfd on February 12, 2006 |

I have this in a Kamigawa snake deck with Orochi Hatchery. It reduces it from XX to X, doubling the counters. THEN, it doubles the tokens it puts into play. That's right... 4 for 1. With two in play, it's 16 for 1. NICE! -- By Risser from Cleveland OH on April 24, 2006 |

A great card to be sure, but anyone who talks of it giving you 8 life and 4 1/1's through the Hondens of Cleansing Fire and Life's Web is only half right. It doesn't double everything, just counters coming into play. You'd only gain 4 life, 2 for each Honden, but you would get 4 1/1's instead of 2 through the season. As for the Scion, he doensn't get counters, he just get's a state based pump effect that continuously looks at the number of creatures you control. So he'd get +4/+4 from the newly created spirits not +8/+8, which is still a rather nice pump being added a turn. -- By Ben from Pennsylvania on June 06, 2006 |

i put this in my selesnya deck and it was ok. i used a lot of saporling token stuff like supply//demand. but THEN i put it in with an old school sliver deck with sliver queen and ashnod's altar. holy freaking god. best combo ever. -- By spazz from iowa on June 07, 2006 |

The true ability of this card rotates on mirriodin and ravinca block. Nothing is better than all your modular creatures coming out and being titanic or slowly getting that way. In saporling production, this is horrible becuase saps aren't that easy to get out without over costed and expensive or complicated cards. But if you us a simic deck mixed with a mycosnyth ( i know i mispelled probably) and some modular creatures you have a great deal of power in your hands. Good all around almost. -- By Charles Burns from Mesquite, TX USA on August 28, 2006 |

Doubling Season and Pentavus. Amazing! It's basically having a creature that says "3: put 3 +1+1 counters on Pentavus". -- By Anonymous from Somewhere on September 05, 2006 |

This card makes any Simic deck totally sick really quick. I would put 4 of them in a Simic deck. I mean when it makes an originally 1/1 graft creature a 16/16 creature if you have all 4 out. Imagine what it can do to something like protean Hulk, can someone say a 96/96 creature coming into play WOW!!! -- By Anonymous from Emory, VA on September 22, 2006 |

Hey cool i got this card today in a booster. cool effects. -- By Tim from Sydney, Australia on September 23, 2006 |

paradox again...one thing you need to know about this card...SOLARION...with all 5 colors and 4 seasons out, "solarion comes into play as a 5/5, oh wait, 10/10, oh wait 20/20 oh wait 40/40 oh wait 80/80"...next turn...TAP I PUT 80 +1/+1 COUNTERS ON HIM, OH WAIT I DOUBLE THAT 4 TIMES...fist of the ironwood to give him trample...solarion for the win...that be all folks......(P.S. stupid caps) -- By Paradox from Im The Shadows On The Walls on November 09, 2006 |

your right this card kicks capitalA's in simic and sap. but have u thought of using it in a countr spl deck w/ walking archieve for the win? im really not too sure for myself but i think it might work. -- By Po_Party_Mix from nowhere on December 14, 2006 |

Here's a scary combo for you, 2 or more Doubling Seasons plus a Gemstone Array means an endless supply of mana, combine that with an Orochi Hatchery, and you've got as many 1/1 snakes as you could ever ask for. -- By James Skinner from Oklahoma on December 16, 2006 |

This is truly an amazing card, I use it along with 4 Honden of Life's Web, which give you 1 1/1 Spirit Token for each Shrine you have in play, thats 4 Spirits x4 Shrines with Doubling Season out...now correct me if im wrong, but I do believe that would be a total of 32 Spirits in a single turn. -- By Anonymous from Alexander City, AL USA on December 28, 2006 |
|
Anon again...with the 4 Honden of Life's Web, & Doubling Season out, also have out Kodama of the Center Tree, whose */* (power an toughness) is equal to the number of Spirits in play...that would be a start of 32 p/t a turn an climbing, not to mention I can also give him Flying, Trample, First Strike, etc. ...maybe I should invest in getting 3 more Doubling Season...lol -- By Anonymous from Alexander City, AL USA on December 28, 2006 |

Use with thalids. Doubles the counters and saps. then, use Day of the Dragons, with 1 doubling season, you get two 5/5 dragons for each saproling you had. yay.with four doubling season, each sapro;ing turns into 16 5/5 dragons. ^_^ -- By EvilDemonKitty from Bend,OR USA on December 31, 2006 |

Dubling season is the best card with any sunburst deck practically doubles the power of all your creatures. very nice card. -- By Anonymous from inside my head on January 18, 2007 |

This card probobly has the most amount of possibilitys for deck bulding, beond just a thallad deck, like the savage firecat, which comes into play with 7 plus 1 plus 1 counters on it normally, and with doubling season, it would have 14! -- By Blip from Maryland on April 19, 2007 |

With Time Spiral Fun with Fungus deck and the Sporaloth Anciet from the recently resleased Future Site decks your deck can go into overdrive. Because if lets say you have a Thallid out and 2 Sporesower Thallids out (which lets you put an additional spore counter on each fungus you control during your upkeep thats 3, with Doubling Seasons you get 6. on just that 1 Thallid and with Sporaloth Ancient it only costs 2 counters to generate a saproling. Plus if you have Thelonite Hermit all saproling creatures get +1/+1 so you would be getting a possible 3 2/2 creatures every upkeep and just think if you had 4 Sporesower Thallids out that would normally be 5 counters every upkeep but with this card it would be 10 and Then with Talon of Haven would out which makes every spore counter a +1/+1 your 1/1 Thallid would become a 11/11. -- By Anonymous from Cincinnati, OH on May 21, 2007 |

Plainly put.... the best enchantment out of Ravnica! So many possibilities and insane combo's it becomes sick if you're playing large chaos games and if your opponents don't know what it is they'll know it by the end. -- By Civ from St. Augustine, FL. on July 29, 2007 |

As everyone knows, this card is amazing in a spore deck... The great thing about having so many saprolings and spore counters is the large amount of possibilities... Which can all be crammed into one deck!
Get some Theylon of Havenwoods into play to make a deck filled with powerful creatures.
Get Life and Limb to have plenty of mana at your disposal... Hurricane? X mana to target player? Instant death.
Get a rich variation of fungus creatures for various effects. You can make a life deck, a pump-up deck, a destroy deck...
The great thing is that you can get all of these possibilities crammed into one crazy-flexible deck. I suggest Green-White-Black. -- By Daniel Reed from US on August 10, 2007 |

This card is also alot of fun if your playing Nacatl War-Pride, with both of those cards in play (or multiples of doubling season) your going to run through your opponents defense without a question.
Also amazing with simic abilities as mentioned before. -- By Anonymous from San Antonio, Tx on August 25, 2007 |

this card is the bomb, especially like dude sed in a simic grafting deck you can put so many counters on ur creatures its not funny especially when the deck get going it will be pretty much unstoppable b/c ur creatures can get so big, plus thers so many cards to move counters and even whenever you do that they double. then the vigean hydropons the come into play with 5 +1 +1 counters on it and it cant block or attack so those are feeders to ur other grafters and those counters double and again when using the abilites of creatures to mov counters will double the counters that are already doubled so basically with this card theres endless possiblities but this card is mainly meant for a token deck b/c mah friend has a god token deck that is pretty much unstoppable by like the 3rd turn depending on the draw i remember at one point he had like 2500 life that is the most insane stuff ever!!!!! -- By ROOTSKIN CYTOPLAST from CLEVELAND OH on September 21, 2007 |

hippies will rule over all, but ill spell it out. first you see the wardens (soul warden and essence warden). ok your not scared... yet. then come the selesnya evangels and selesnia guildmages, thats when the hippies start (tokens). you dont see the threat till i start buybacking the sprout swarm. as your flooded in the song of selesnya, it gets worse. veridant embraces start start sprouting hippies every upkeep, the twilight drovers call the spirits of the dead hippies to battle, airborn of course, and nemata, grove guardian coordinates the festival. if thats not bad enough, the anthems (glorious anthem and gaea's anthem) ringing in your ears, bloistering the jubilant woodstock. if they dont invite your own to join them (glare of subdual) then there shear numbers will hand them the victory (epic struggle). now try to wrap your mind around that with heart beat of springs and doubling seasons. are you crying yet? -- By isao.zimmer from interlachen, fl usa on September 29, 2007 |

This will go nicely with planeswalkers. A bit expensive, but good nonetheless. -- By Grimancer from Centurion, SA on October 04, 2007 |
|
Yeah those are all good ideas... but with planeswalkers (Esp. Garruk) It's one of the best cards in print! Garruk comes into play with six counters on him if you have this in play. Then you remove one counter to get two 3/3's. Or you can use Chandra's last ability when you play her. Or you can up Jace to 10 counters as you play him and mill the next turn. Beautiful. -- By Arkana from Atlantis on November 25, 2007 |

Very good points, better then all of the other stuff in the doubling season combos. Heres a thought though. Spellbook (You have no maximum hand size) and Doubling Season out, then play Endless Swarm (Put a 1/1 green snake creature token for each card in your hand. Epic (For the rest of the game you cant play spells. At the beginning of each upkeep copy this spell without the epic ability). 5 cards in your hand would be 10 1/1 snakes per turn and the ability can go up to infinate because of spellbook.
2xHand Size snakes per turn? i think thats pretty good Also this card is rated 5 stars because of its skill with combos and other stuff -- By The_One_Ring from Lafayette, CO USA on January 27, 2008 |

With the release of Shadowmoor, and the introduction of wither, I'm thinking this would be a great card to put in a wither deck and donate to your opponent. -- By Duane from Flint, MI on June 12, 2008 |

A card for combo players to drool over and nothing more, but powerful enough that it may not need to be more. There are so many cards that Doubling Season is "great with", the problem being that it does nothing by itself and is too expensive to be played on an early building turn.
Think of Doubling Season as green's version of Megrim. -- By Topher from Eau Claire, WI on June 18, 2008 |

This card + Epic Stuggle..... Must I say more? -- By Anonymous from New York, NY USA on June 18, 2008 |

Anyone who thinks that this is an overrated card is simply ignorant. If you have a token deck, you need this card.
I am not going to suggest any more "infinite" combo's with this card, because there are plenty on this page.
Here is a simple creature trick that will use both of it's effects. You can play your "Doubling Season" then play a "Howl of the Night Pack" or **INSERT TOKEN PRODUCING CARD**... and let's say you were normally creating 5 creatures, now you just created 10... obviously (yay I can add). Now, you play "Stag Beetle" who gets a +1/+1 counter for EACH creature in PLAY. Now you WOULD have a 10/10 (plus any creatures your opponent has), but guess what, DOUBLE THE COUNTERS. Now your "5 token creating card" just became a 20/20 creature. -- By The Main Event from Knoxville, TN on July 19, 2008 |
