any person who plays black and goes to a tourny WITHOUT 4 of these in the sideboard is a tard....... why are so many goyf & vengevine decks killing it? How can they never encounter a decent deck that has black in it along the road to victory? It would dump this on the table and game set match??? I DON'T GET IT ..... Game over reanimator, dredge and vengevine decks FOR good. Be creative and build something else people. GEEEEZZZZZ!!!! lolololol

Pyromancer Ascension decks officially have a kryptonite card.....
This is a MUST HAVE for any Standard deck running black against Pyromancer Ascension decks, White Weenie, or Vengevine decks.

Excellent, truly excellent card. Pair it up with lifeline and you'll wreak havoc.

This card is absolutely insane when it comes to Extended. It is almost a staple four-of in every sideboard because dredge is just so good. With it in play (hopefully turn 0) your dredge opponent will have to waste time attempting to find something to destroy it or to bounce it, giving you enough time to win the game. It is just a hell of a beating when it comes to facing against dredge.

It’s not bad anywhere else. Things that run around in Extended right now, such as Aggro-Loam decks, which rely on getting lands into the graveyard before beating you with a huge countryside crusher or terravore, various builds of Urzatron, which often ends the game by a forever recurring Mindslaver lock, featuring something that allowed one to fetch the Mindslaver out of the graveyard. It also stops the various breach- or bubble hulk decks, because Protean Hulk’s triggered ability only triggers if it hits the graveyard. With the leyline, that’s something that it will never do.

It can be troublesome when it comes to facing something like TEPS, because you are literally giving away options for them to wish for, but for everything else, this is the bomb. Even the dredge decks run four of it in their sideboard, fearing mirror matches. It is the standard answer to dredge. Everyone should own at least one.

Have fun with this one,

I bought 2 guipact packs this was in one of the packs. I added it to the Tenth Edition black deck Evincar's Tyranny and it works awesome. I get it in my opening hand a lot and it comes in handy.

This one can really help. If your opponent is using threshold, suddenly his graveyard is running thin! Reanimation deck's worst nightmare! This card can cause some serious havoc, but its true you shouldn't put four in your deck, especially since its pretty cheap, and you can get it for free :D

Why am i the only one who really plays it? I don't get it especially considering the fact that everyone makes a big deal about haunting memories, whenever you have this as a constant version that could be free your first turn. just only put two in your deck, cause more than that means you are wasting space on a card that is only usable in singles at best.

Try it out with Szadek, Lord of Secrets.... Also, the Dredge ability makes no sense with this card in play.

Since being reprinted in M11, this card is makes Blue/Black mill decks actually viable in the post-Eldrazi standard. It also is pretty good at shutting down DredgeVine decks since you can't really utilized Vengevine without having a graveyard. :)

works well with time reversal and mil cards
[admin edit: Time reversal shuffles cards back into the deck. It does not mill. It does work nice with mill cards though]

Are you kidding? This card can be used 4 copies of in any deck, standard is probably not a good idea, but there are tons of decks you can base off this card. I have a slayer deck with this card in it, and you can reset your opponents game, while you get everything back, AND untapped to play any new spells after combat. There are TONS of decks you can build around it, having 4 around in the long term is a great idea in extended. As for standard, I would probably play two in a deck as well.
