”The Old Ones were. The Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall be.”
Are you brave, or foolish, enough to delve into the unknown? Are you prepared for what you may discover? Confront horrifying truths long hidden away from the minds of the sane, and meet terrifying, malevolent creatures that defy the darkest recesses of the imagination.

H.P. Lovecraft has long been considered one of the top writers in the entire horror genre and now role-players can delve into a campaign centered around some of his most popular works, the Cthulhu Mythos. The Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying Game is a self-contained d20 System game that provides everything needed explore the realm of horror. One of the best books put out by Wizards of the Coast during 3.0, this is a perfect blend of Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu mixed with d20 rules system. Delve into the world of the Mythos and pray your sanity stays intact as you face Eldritch horrors from beyond our reality!

**** This is NOT the original, percentile-dice-based Basic Role-Playing System version of the rules, but rather a port of Dungeons & Dragons' 3rd-Edition D20 rules set. I would rate the original version (the one currently published with the blue cover) higher at 5 stars - the original BRP system is very simple to learn and very nicely suited for the Call of Cthulhu RPG, and is the better of the two systems for a Call of Cthulhu game. I don't care for the more complicated D20 rules in this game setting (I think they are better suited for D&D than for CoC), but the full-colour artwork in this version is beautiful and genuinely creepy, the production values over-all are top-notch, and the Keeper (Game Master) advice chapters for running horror RPGs are very nicely presented and fascinating to read. At the very least, this version makes a great reference book for any RPG with a horror theme (especially D20 games like Dungeons & Dragons), and, though I prefer the classic rules system, this D20 version would present virtually no learning curve for the rules set for anyone used to the D&D 3rd Edition rules system.

***** This book is one of the best books released using the OGL, far better than d20 modern.

**** I've only had a few opportunities to be exposed to the Call of Cthulhu system; however, all of the interactions I've had have been amazing! Be creative with this system. The best part is -- the system is really simple! Anyone can play. It's the perfect game to get your friends into role-playing games.

***** This is one of the best RPG I have played... I been playing DnD for quite a few years, and I loved H.P. Lovecraft Books since a long time ago... I recently discovered this book and started a few campaings... and I loved it... so now I am buying the book to start being GM, I read the book on the web and it is wonderful... I recomend it
