Caesar: Conquest of Gaul
In 58 BC, Gaius Julius Caesar was appointed by the Roman Senate as proconsul for Gaul, for which he was given four legions. The ambitious Caesar, a military ingenue, had little idea of how lucky he was going to be -- as he was in usually everything he did -- within a short space of a few years. After he came to the rescue of the Gauls who were under attack from Germanic tribes to the east, Caesar himself decided to bring the rest of the barbarian tribes under the domain of Republican Rome. It was a a double gain for him, by expanding the empire and increasing his visibility among the Roman people.
*Caesar: Conquest of Gaul allows the Great battles of Julius Caesar series to simulate virtually all of the major battles (but not sieges; sorry) that the Romans had during Caesar’s subjugation of Gaul.
Contains:
- 840 multi-colored counters representing every type of fighting unit seen in Caesar's Conquest of Gaul
- Two double-sided 22x34" full-color mapsheets
- One 10-sided die
- 26-page Rule Book
- 16-page Play Book
- 8-page Naval Scenario Book
- Player Aid Cards: One double-sided 8.5x11" card and one 11x17" card showing game charts and tables.
