A Victory Lost, the latest game in our International Game Series, was designed by Tetsuya Nakamura and was originally published in Japanese in Game Journal #4 as Struggle of Army Group Manstein.
This game offers the same ease and depth of play that Tetsuya brought to us in Fire in the Sky.
Starting with the Russian offensive Operation Saturn and continuing through van Manstein’s famous “backhand blow,” A Victory Lost revives the simplicity of classic games such as Russian Campaign — but with some very modern twists. Easy to learn and with a compact 3 hour playing time, A Victory Lost nevertheless offers a historical treatment of this subject that has seldom been seen in larger and more complicated games.
A simple and elegant game. Well balanced and very replayable. Also very
solo friendly. Nice hex/counter wargame to start with, or a nice game for
those who remember all those great AH games from the 70's.
