***** this card is amazing with a hive stone, soul warden, and a plague sliver. every turn you get double the creatures and regain life with soul warden lost from plague sliver. amazing card :-)

**** It's counter intuitive but yes this does actually work with worship. 10/4/2004: Worship does not prevent damage. It causes some damage to be unable to lower your life total. So any damage rendered useless by Worship was still dealt and is counted by effects that track the amount of damage done to a player.

*** Darien, King of Kjeldor... The moment I opened him in my coldsnap booster, I instantly thought of Soul Warden. You become virtually invulnerable, yet Darien is only 3/3 compared to his converted manacost of 6. He should've been 3/4 .. at least that would allow him to survive the Lightning Bolts flying all over the place. If I had rated written this review back when Coldsnap was just released, I would give him 5/5 for sure, but the fact that the moment he hits the table, your opponent will start aiming his guns at him means that he'll usually die before you get any real threat going. You might even start to argue that you'd be better off playing a Worship... On the other hand, combining Worship with Darien doesn't seem like a bad idea either :) Good "finisher" in white soldier decks featuring Soul Wardens, yet depending on the situation, you would really be better off with Worship.

***** Darien + 2x Pandemonium + 2x Soul Warden = Infinite damage and life gain.

***** Combine this with some Juniper Order Rangers and Force of Nature that has a spirit link on it and you're good to go. Oh look, the Force deals you 8 damage. Well, you gain that life back and you get 8 1/1 tokens! But wait, your Ranger turns them into 2/2's while the Ranger gets +8/+8. Manage to get four Rangers out? Another Force? It's a hard deck to build and play, and it is relatively easily to counter, but when you pull it off, it makes your opponent want to quit magic forever.

***** its good with soul wardens

-- By Anonymous from MN on March 12, 2008

**** This is a brilliant card, especially in a combo such as with "Soul Warden". But after reading Anonymous's review I must say that this card doesn't work with "Worship" because it "Worship" says if damage WOULD reduce your life to less than 1 it reduces it to one instead. Therefore if you are on 1 life and are attacked you don't get any soldier tokens because the X damage you would have been dealt is basically reduced to 0>

**** Wow, great card. Im so using this in my Soldier/Life gain deck. Although because its such a large mana cost for such a weak creature, by turn six or so when you play this card, your life will already be down a lot. But if you have a speed life gain deck, then everything will be more then worth it. I dont know if it would work or not, but it would make a great combo with Worship and an even better one with Angelic Chorus, damage will still be dealt to you and you gain that much life basically equal to how much you lost.

***** its a good card for a soldier not a knight deck with field marshall

-- By keegan from clevelend,oh usa on August 03, 2006

***** I have been waiting years for a worthy king to rule my knight deck and Magic finally created one. Now I did give it 5 stars, more because I like the picture rather then its abilities. With that said, it can be a usefull card for a white knight deck. Six land for 3/3 is not great, but anytime you as a player take damage, you get a 1/1 knight for each point of damage. A quick way to overwhelm your enemy. Just be sure to have cards to heal yourself afterwards. Thanks for your time. Now onto battle.
