I use lotus bloom, lotus petals and utopia trees(3 $ cheaper than Birds) to run my Blue/White and a spattering of red...just enough to get my greater gargadon and shivan meteor out, take that baneslayer... Any way, There are many different ways of reaching GG and they dont have to be what anyone else is playing. The trick(bind) is playing smart and cheap not expensive(stifle). Your lotus petals and blooms generally run from 10$ to 40$ cheaper than the mox diamond or chrome mox and work just as effective. I run a pain and punishment deck, You will suffer and if you try to stop it I will punish you just for trying. I am not an upper tier player but i have had many a player compliment my deck building strategies. You need to have fun first and your deck has to have character and speak for your personality,(me? control freak? ;-) Just be original and you will be surprised how many unrealized combos there are out there. Have fun young wizards!!!

makes subpar "stupid" decks much much more playable. i play this in a white/red 'confusion in the ranks' deck with 'academy rector' and some 'urza's rage' to finish. this deck is totally stupid and not much of a winner, until you add 'lotus bloom' and 'seething song' to the mix! still slightly subpar, but every stupid/jank/cheesy deck idea you've ever had suddenly becomes feasible with this card. of course, even better and more focused decks can use this card too! makes me wonder if this one-card revolution will make the metagame that much more cluttered with wild theme decks of every note going off with loud explosions before disappearing to the next crazy dude's deck. i hope so!

Lotus is one of the most dangerous words in Magic, and this one's no exception. The three-turn wait is most definitely not enough.

Its hard not to love almost all of the cards in the time spiral set, and its just the begining! Well wizards did it again by re-realsing in a way some of the old favorites, and this i s amongst one of the best. In ways it is more powerful over black lotus just because your allowed to play a few more spells before you use one of the best cards in the games. Also your opponent has the opprtunity to stop the spell coming back in thanks to voidslime but thats why you play multiples if dci doesn't restrict or ban the card.
