Works at its best when your outta cards in yr hand and yr topping. easy to kill but it just pumps up my lavamancer if it dies! How much must u pay ONE MANA!

Not bad. One of the only good one drops for mono red in standard right now. But it brings almost none of the advantages of the Cursed Scroll. It's a creature and a 1/1 at that so it's all to easy to get rid of. It's red so protection from red and COP:red stop it cold. I can't even tell you how many games i won with cursed scroll after COP:red hit the board and that was the power of the card. -- By Miraxis from Ansonia, CT on March 15, 2007 |

Yeah, it's practically a Cursed Scroll, but not quite...Yeah it's cheap and is great in mono-red burn decks, but first of all, its ability has to wait until at least turn 3, and that's if you're not doing anything constructive on turn 3, and don't feel like leaving any mana open. And THEN, you actually have to guess RIGHT!! On turn 3, the chances of this arent exactly huge. Plus it's a RED (not colorless like Cursed Scroll) CREATURE!! CoP:Red ruins this, and against a mono-red deck it pretty much wins the game...there's plenty of removal for artifacts, but there's probably 3x more removal for creatures. -- By Greg Johnston from Atlanta, GA USA on May 10, 2008 |
