***** I've been a Pirates fan for a few months now and have gobbled up booster packs from all of the previous sets and now have a fairly large collection of 100+ ships. I don't play as often as I'd like to, but I know what makes a ship or crew member good for play or not, and let me tell you, the new Viking faction included in this set is a powerhouse. The new "Longship" keyword on some of the new ships means that each mast has TWO cannons, rather than one, therefore doubling the firepower of these ships. Combine that with some incredibly powerful new Viking crew members and you have a virtually unstoppable team. I was happy to see the Cursed faction make an appearance in this set, but sadly, only as rares and special editions. Also, the new "Icebreaker"-class ships are a gimmik, I find. I feel that WizKids put too much attention into the new Iceberg pieces (which move randomly and can sink ships), since in a large game they are very easy to avoid (unless you fill the table with them). The Icebreakers are some of the coolest looking ships from any of the series', but they're not worth a lot of fuss. Overall, though, if your hobby shop is stocking the new Frozen North series, you'd do well to buy a handful. They'll strengthen your fleet greatly and the new Longships will make it look scary as heck to someone without their own.
