***** Excellent balance. Sure to level out the playing field against counterspell heavy decks.

***** this is my first rare from Planar Chaos... and this card is definitely sick when compared with other Lobotomy effects... AND ITS SPLIT SECOND!!! nihahaha say goodbye to your counterspells you blue-freak...!!

**** This card will show alot of promise in grind decks. Used with Cranial Extraction and Glimpse of the Unthinkable, 12 cards can nearly deck someone entirely. Of course, this will be restricted before too long, but that's okay. It'll still be a good card.

***** OMFG!!! THIS CARD ISN'T JUST GOOD, IT FREAKIN OWNS ALL! Combo decks are not happy, nor are reanimators. Almost anything can be destroyed, and this keeps them from coming back. Ever. Better than cranial extraction in my opinion, but that's just me.

**** Extirpate can be a great hoser for decks and will see tournament play for that reason. But this card is sideboard material in the long run. It's hard to compare this card to Cranial Extraction because the biggest issue is getting the card you want to remove in the graveyard in the first place. Extirpate is good, but it's not worthy of 5 stars.

**** Great sideboard card; perfect once you know which card to remove from your opponentīs game.

***** Man, this would absolutely murder my relentelss rats deck :-(

*** Average card considering it basically comes down to who extipates first in a duel. Extirpate the other player's Extirpate and you get three more chances to hit something good. It is a bit overated right now and will come back down to earth soon.

***** Definately an amazing card, especially in Monoblack-Control, UB Mill or any Counterspell deck in general

***** the best single black spell of all time, before protesting my ignorance and blurting out a half dozen contestants, please take some time and think about it.

***** I always make sure my opponent watchesme sideboard this in for intimidation. scariest card in standard. now, you only get countered once, wrathed once, lark goes away, dragonstorm goes away, korlash folds on sight! best card in standard imho. go buy 12. now.

***** one drop instant that removes target cards out of the graveyard hand and library from the game? hello isochron scepter!!!!!!!!!

***** @sudbury - I did take some time to think about it and realized, hey this card isn't good against 100% of the decks out there, therefore it can't be the best! How do you explain this card beating out Demonic Tutor, Yawgmoth's Will, Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal, Thoughtseize, and Duress? Simply put, it doesn't. If your opponent is running something like a burn deck, this card is pretty much useless since all of their cards are so redundant that removing one of them really does nothing since they'll just draw into something equally effective. Additionally, a lot of the decks this card is good against can play around it by playing cards like Duress or Thoughtseize before they reanimate a creature or engage in other forms of graveyard manipulation. Now answer me this, when is Demonic/Vampiric/Imperial Seal/Yawgmoth's Will bad? Answer, next to never. @Extirpate - Despite my harsh words about cards that are better than Extirpate I truly do love this card. The casting cost coupled with split second make this card nuts. It's definitely in the top 10 best black cards in my opinion as it does do some amazing things against Life from the Loam based decks and Ichorid decks as well as several others.
