i totally agree... MORPHLING is way better than this guy. the previous comment was put rather wll and to the point... lets go fish out GILDED DRAKE!!! Gilded Drake was sooo much better than this creature... just way more blue creatures that surpass this Sphinx. 
First, tho it's not exactly excellent, the vigilance helps. Second, greater morphling beats morphling. Third, who cares if it is legal to use or not!!! Fourth, standard legal can use this card, g. morphling,morphling, and gilded drake can't. when stripped of most cards, u must take what u can get.

If you have a problem with this card, you don't get magic. 5 for a 4/4 flier is good. Add vigilance and it is wonderful.
And as far as calling it a copy, well duh! It is an alternate version of Serra Angel.
You look at a card based off the rules of magic. Fliers cost more usually, because they have flying. So once again this card is good. Granted it's nothing new. But it's still a good card. Your Rights :
