This is a sweet card. Play this then Grounbreaker and you got an instant 11 damage. Combine with Pandemonium and Stalking Vengeance and you've got game over. Just dont pay the echo and let the mare die to the Stalker. Thats a whopping 15 damage from your attacking phase to your next upkeep. 33 if you include Groundbreaker. Put in a Scorched Rusalka for good measure and you can sac the mare and breaker after attacking and you get all 33 in one turn. Game over. Click... -- By Bret from st. Great card. Think of this guy as green direct damage and forget about the echo cost. I play this with Giant Solifuge. Timbermare taps all creatures, but Giant Solifuge can't be targeted by any spells or abilities, so you can attack with both and your opponent more than likely can't defend it (9 damage, and maybe add a Giant Growth for 12, or a Might of Old Krosa for 13). -- By Anonymous from Amarillo, TX on August 14, 2007 |

Above-The Solifuge isn't actually targeted so no, it's ability won't save it from being tapped just like it won't saved it from being wrathed:). But to the point... Timbermare is a great beats card, especially with a primal forcemage, and when you have all the elementals coming up in Lorwynn, I think this card is definitely worth having a playset of. -- By Joshua Tucker from Blacksburg, VA on September 17, 2007 |

An important element of a mono-green "hasty" deck. Using this card requires, however, a bit of planning ahead as it taps your creatures as well. Timbermare can be combined with other hasty creatures such Yavimaya Drake or groundbreaker. Better yet, throw a Might of Old Krosa on the beast to add a whopping four points of damage.
A team up with something that allows untapping of creatures can maximize this critters effect on the game.
There is a drawback to this horse, though. It hits hard, but leaves you pretty much undefended. Early on, this isn't that big of a problem, and late game, you might just be able to finish your opponent off. But many times, you will see this creature leaving you wide open for a massive stomping from your opponents men. In addition, don't plan on this beast staying around long, its echo cost is pretty prohibitive. -- By Topher from Eau Claire, WI on February 05, 2008 |

This card is great, along with 2 other cards: Groundbreaker and Momentary Blink. Okay, so you have to put in some Selesnya or Simic Signets, but look at it this way: Turn 4- Timbermare, swing for 5. Turn 5- Momentary Blink your Timbermare and play Groundbreaker. That's just crazy. This card does have a major drawback though, since it taps your creatures as well, but if you're careful you should win anyway even if your opponent hits you for 5-10 points of damage since your creatures are tapped out. -- By Greg from Atlanta, GA USA on April 20, 2008 |
