Edward Elric was the more abrasive and short tempered one of the two main characters in Full Metal Alchemist. He and Alphonse Elric, before the real beginning, had the most tragic tale in the world, with their father dying while they were very young and then their mother dying when they were around 11. The brothers try to revive their mother with forbidden alchemy and have to pay a horrible price with Alphonse losing his entire body and being soul bound to Armor while Edward loses an arm and a leg during the forbidden experiment.

Alphonse Elric was the kind and lovable one of the two main characters in Full Metal Alchemist.
