Directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, also known for the Cowboy Bebop series. The name comes from the word "Chanpuru" meaning to mix or blend keeping up with the seires blended theme and characters. The series largely relies on a mix of the Edo historical period and modern day references. Story follows three main characters: Mugen, Jin, and Fuu. Mugen is a former pirate from Ryukyu with a rude attitude and fighting style that resembles modern day breakdancing. Jin is a quiet man that fights with the tradional samurai style known as kenjutsu. Fuu is a young and persistent woman that works as a waitress and recruits the two men to help her on her search for the "samurai who smells of sunflowers."
