This is a rather fun game of the Far-West. You visit frontier towns as you go around the outer track, and you can buy up parts of them (bank, saloon, etc.) to secure revenue. Whenever you visit the Bank, you have the option of holding it up, in which case the game switches to a different mode, which uses the inside of the board. This shows a map of the Far West --you are now an outlaw on that map, running for the border. Those of the other players that want to are also put on the map as bounty hunters. Once the chase is resolved --one way or another-- the pieces return to the outer track.
I've drawn up optional rules to replace the rather over-simple "poker game" rules but we've found this can increase playing time maybe too much.

I was 8 years old the first time I played this game, in fact, my family was one of the first to play the game. Our next door neighbor, James Rimbold, invented this game. My family spent hours playing it. I would love to be able to play this game with my children. It brings history to life and makes learning about it more fun. Would recommend this game to anyone. -- By Nancy H. from Saline, MI on September 21, 2007 |
