The Cactuar creature is known for it's signature move "1000 needles", which can bypass an opponent's defenses and always deals exactly 1,000 hit points damage. Usually these creatures are worth a great ammount of gil or currency and experience points. They are more than likely to flee with their high evasion stats and killing them is not an easy task.

Based on a doodle drawn by designer Tetsuya Nomura done in high school on his notebook. It resembles the Japanese clay figures called "Haniwa", made for ritual and funerary uses.
