NES Game - Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt / World Class Track Meet

Possibly among the top 10 video game franchises of all time features a lovable little chunklet known as Mario. This unsuspecting character wields a toilet snake by day as a plumber and fights 1930's football helmet wearing Koopa Troopers by night. Why does he do all of this? Well, the story at its root is a Fox Mulder & Dana Scully type love story with a giant punk rock Koopa (mythical Gamera-like creature) standing in the way of Fox "Mario" Mulder's paramour.

When you start the game you are thrown into a 3d side scrolling world full of fun and adventure. During your journey you will meet and battle fanciful inhabitants with anthropomorphic features similar to those in our earthly realm, but anthropomorphic of course, while enjoying new landscapes as you progress through to the higher levels. After a series of levels you will progress to a castle apparently decorated by the dark lord himself since you will be forced to traipse above floors covered with lava until you eventually enter into an epic battle with the grand imperial Koopa wizard himself, Sir Bowser.

For the few that haven't played the Super Mario Bros. game it is a must buy and for those long time fans of the series it is an essential part of any collectors library of classic games.

Duck Hunt

I almost forgot about Duck Hunt... If Ted Nugent and Charleston Heston made a game together it would be Duck Hunt... However, at the first sparkle in Rovers eye indicating a hearty chuckle, that laughing dog would immediately transform into an 8-bit depiction of a freezer full of stringy processed canine meat to be used for stew, or perhaps chili to be fed in the mess hall at Ted Nugent's camp for kids.

Basically, it is a shooting game that allows you to use a light gun to shoot ducks that fly across the screen. However, the light gun only works on the non-flat screen CRT televisions (gun sold separately).

World Class Track Meet

Oops... I almost forgot. I won't be able to make it, fellas. Veronica and I trying this new fad called, uh, jogging. I believe it's 'jogging' or 'yogging.' it might be a soft j. I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time! It's supposed to be wild... That in a nutshell is what World Class Track Meet is all about.

Information:

The Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as the NES in North America, Europe and Australia or Famicom, short for family computer, across most Asian countries is the best selling console of its time.

Nintendo was the first gaming company to provide third party licensing that required a game development company to pay a fee to get a development kit and have their game officially licensed by Nintendo. The most important aspect of this is that it required developers to submit their games to be reviewed by Nintendo's Quality Assurance department. However, you can purchased unlicensed NES games such as Road Runner, Dudes with Attitude, RBI Baseball 2, Krazy Kreatures, Fantasy Zone, Skull & Crossbones and Klax among many others.

This 8-bit gaming console brings back fond memories to many of us age 20 or older and boasts a huge collection of fantastic games such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior and many other franchises that are still popular today.
