Ares Magazine
Issue #1

Ares Magazine was the first periodical that combined science fiction with fantasy together for the avid wargamer. The articles within are innovative and introspective, the fiction written by leading science fiction authors of the time. This first issue really brings out the synergy of the two most popular gaming genres!

Each magazine contains a stand alone war-game complete with a foldout paper map, cardboard counters and the rules. Though Ares magazine was discontinued in 1984 it lived on briefly until 1986 as section in Dragon Magazine.

* The complete, ready-to-play science fiction game included in this issue dramatically simulates a planet’s fight for life against a marauding alien fleet.
