When you first pick this game up, it immediately stands apart from most games. The game is a monstrously heavy, and has an outward appearance of a manufacturer that cares about the product they produce. Open the game box - and immediately the quality of the product is evident - large easy to read and heavy duty unit counters, well printed and grammatically correct instructions, heavy duty scenario map boards. Even the game's box is well made. We were intrigued by claim that you can learn to play it in 10 minutes, and decided to buy it based on the 10+ age rating. I cut my teeth on Avalon Hill bookcase games Panzer Blitz and Panzer Leader, and expected this to be as complex as those. My 12 year old son and I were pleasantly surprised. While it took us longer than 10 mintues to figure it out (about 1 hour of light discussion over dinner of the concepts before playing) we played the first scenario in about 1.5 hours. It was a blast! I highly recommend this game as a great way to get family members into board gaming. We are avid PnP D&D gamers, and this has added a strategic component to our gaming time together. While the number of programmed scenarios are somewhat limited in scope, the rules are simple enough that even an novice gamer is up and going on it relatively easily. We are hooked!
