Eventide is the second set in the Shadowmoor block. Eventide introduces two new mechanics called Retrace and Chroma. Retrace allows one to play a card out of one�s graveyard with the added cost of discarding a land. Chroma makes mana of a certain color a variable that determines the effect of a card.

Once you have 4 lands every land you draw becomes 2 kithkin soldiers. Also retrace beats most counterspellin, especially like this. I use this in a reanimator deck because each 1 useless land card becomes 2 creatures to sac.
