Red/White Rare Creature

***** To Arkana: how can the cost throw you off? It's a double Glorious Anthem for red/white decks, it boosts your spells significantly, and it even triples as a creature! Having two of these on the battlefield makes them both 4/6, and even on their own, they're big enough to survive incoming an incoming Lightning Bolt. No doubt about it: I'm rating this a straigt 5/5 - Balefire's manacost is low enough to make an impact on the game, and its abilities are potent enough to turn the tables the instant it hits the battlefield.

***** I love this card. A combo of lightning Helix, Izzit Guildmage, and Balefire Liege can produce 12 damage and twelve life for 5 mana. Add in a Gelectrode, and you are looking at very serious damage. I bet this card will sell out, or the price will get really high.

***** While I love most of the lieges, this monster takes the cake in my opinion. White/red is the most straight forward damage-dealing hybrid color. Throw this beast in there to up the damage from your creatures while also getting more burn for your buck and a little life gain. Some say the white/green liege is the best. I say this one wins every time due to the extra abilities.

**** 5 mana is a lot...but check this out: turn 1 figure of destiny, turn 2 boost and swing, turn 3 obelisk of naya, turn 4 this liege and swing for 4, turn 5 boost the figure and drop 2 more, and then turn after that a nobilis of war...wow! a 2/4 really isn't terrible...it's not bad for defense, BUT: when you get 2 of these, your opponent might as well give up. they're each huge 4/6's, and every time you play a flame javelin, they take 9, and every time you play a spectral procession you gain 4 life and get 3 flying 2/2's. not to mention your fully boosted figure of destiny is a 12/12 with flying and first strike. thats a game winner. angelic blessing is...okay...i prefer serra's embrace, elspeth, or good old-fashioned glorious anthem.

***** you put this baby in a white red reckless deck! you are gaining life and burning your enemys when your throw out your hybrids, your lava axes and chars and incinerate deal a world more of pain not to mention boosting your creatures!. i threw this baby out on a 1/1 hybrid so now hes 3/3 and i gain 3 life deal three and then i equip that hybrid enchantment and now i have a 5/5 with lifelink and the ability to throw on more power!

***** I recently aquired this card and I must say it works beautifully. This card boosts your other creatures as well as giving you ample capability to deal direct damage and gain life while simultaniously attacking. The only bad thing is that it has a low Power/Defense of 2/4 so it is crutial you have another spell to boost it such as my favorite Angelic Blessing. At the time I hold one in my deck but later down the road I will aquire another one or two it is currently one of my favorite cards I own.

**** Two lightning helixes for the price of one! Awesome! It's just the cost that throws me off... If it cost four mana, I'd give it a five...

***** I pulled this card in the prerelease, IT ROCKS! I had kitchen finks as well making finks a potential 10 life gain card. It won me most of my games. It pumps up your creatures, yourself and burns your opponents.
