Best one drop red in the game.
Best one drop red in the entire game.

Arguably the best competitive red creature ever. Sure, the drawback *might* give your opponent some minor card advantage, but the early damage one or more of these guys can get in in the first few turns of a game can consistently get an opponent into position to be Lightning Bolted/Rift Bolted/Lava Spiked/Chain Lightened/Fireblasted to death sometimes as early as turn three. Five stars. =)

Excellent card! Soooooo much damage this guy is the greatest opening spell EVER. If you want to have a strong start to your game, get 4^^^ 5 stars easily, so many wins i had were traced back to him at the beginning.

This guy right here is a true hall of famer. One of the best cards of all time, without a doubt.

EASILY 5 STARS.
@Jim from Madison, I don't think you get it. Having your opponent have a 30-40% chance of drawing a land each time you attack is not at all a penalty to pay for this card's power. 2/2 will be around for a little while in the game, and in high cost decks, with four lightning bolts, 1 or 2 of these could win you the game alone. It's what we call, reckless play, commonly found in black or red decks. It involves hurting yourself or helping the opponent a little to create a massive effect on a cheap card. Aka, drawbacks. This drawback is nothing! There's a good 60-70% chance that whenever he attacks, you just get a peak at what will be in his hand next turn! And, unless you have a red deck, I understand how you couldn't see how like 8 damage in the first four turns is amazing, but trust me, this card is out of stock 90% of the time with a reason: it's a MONSTER.

Sweet card in a red deck wins. It makes it easy to kill by turn 3-4.

Five star card. 2/2 is a great creature for turn one, but with haste?! AM I READING THIS RIGHT! An easy 2 damage turn one, then keeps on swinging until they waste resources to answer. Most cards like this (2/2 and haste for one) of course have a catch, which is of course what i said when i started to read. Then i saw the drawback. What kinda a penalty is that? so what if they get more land in their hand! It might not even be a land, if its not, you see any threats coming up! I <3 ZENDIKAR

this is an amazing card, and it does make the defending player to discard, and that just feels good, if you have two in your opening hand, then you just have dealt 6 damage in two turns!

This card is the perfect addition addition to red-white aggro in any format. The drawback is merely a matter of speed over card advantage, and in red/ red-white aggro, speed owns.

This card is worth what it is because:
It's Rare, supply and demand.
It's the only 2/2 with Haste for R.
It's a Goblin.

Land, swing for 2, go.
This is a very powerful card. A lot of people think it isn't good, because of its drawback, but it doesn't matter in the slightest because of how aggressive the card is.
I can see this going in Sligh decks in Limited (duh), Block, Standard, Extended, Legacy and Vintage.
5 stars.

It's "drawback" isn't really even that big of a deal. At most your opponent's deck will have 40% mana. If they go on the draw and are not playing a fast deck, this will force them to discard early on. If they have 2 or mana in hand already one more isn't doing much for them. If they don't draw land, hey you get to see their next card.

this is one of the most broken cards i have ever seen.

Best used in a Red-Green deck. Have Doubling Season with Goblin Assault, and you can mix Goblin Guide with a few Explore cards (M11 that allow you to play an extra land that turn). Some other combo cards could be Burgeoning; Azusa, Lost but Seeking; Exploration; Fastbond; Summer Bloom. There is an elf that allows you to play an extra land each turn while she is in play, but I can't seem to find the name at the moment.

It's pretty cool, but it just never seems to make the final cut for my goblin deck. I always seem to replace it with something I feel will be more useful. Oh, and I think the guy above is talking about Oracle of Mul-daya. It is a great card, so check it out if you don't know about it.

I don't think this card is deserving of its rarity or its price. Compare it to Raging Goblin, a 10 cent common. Sure, this is 2/2 instead of 1/1, but is that really worth the ridiculous price difference? I don't think so. Especially when you add in the fact that the Guide has the drawback of possibly helping your opponent. I just don't get it. Am I missing something?
