***** At my first tournament ever ( before some of you were born) I made a kid cry by casting this and a spectral cloak while he was tapped out playing burn.ill never forget him saying"there's no way I can win!" With tears running down his face! Those were the days.

**** ali from cairo and inviolability from mercadian masques = very powerful except for a disenchant which few ppl run nuff said

***** This was the first card to ever be restricted. It has an incredibly powerful ability and even though it is easily dealt with, it is still one of the only cards ever to to do what it does. Cards like this make you run some type of creature removal. You might not run into it everyday, but against some decks and colors this becomes a nightmare. I think it suits an aggressive red deck well; 2-4 slots for this defensive wonder and 36 slots for burn and creatures. Well, in a casual deck anyway...

***** One, or maybe one of the only creatures ever restricted because of his use with jade monolith. Not a good card any more, but really nostalgic for me :-).

*** for anyone that has played since nights, this card stands as something that never needed practicality to be cool for any modern player looking at this card, wondering how big there tarmogoyf could get by the time i get it in play, it seems to be a less useful fortune thief for 60 times as much money hard to believe when i started everyone liked this a card

** This card does have a powerful ability, but it relies too heavilly on combos to keep it alive. Also, beyond its ability you only get a 0/1 for 4 mana, which is way under the curve for creatures. In addition, it's a defensive card which makes it poorly suited to red in general. In type 1 there are far better ways to win a game than this. Still, it's a pretty neat card for casual play, and it does have some fun combo potential. 2 stars.

* if you used tis card in type one tournement you be laughed out of said tuornement its too much mana and to vulnerable all i takes is a lure to kill one of these with diplomatic imunity on thats if they even let you put diplomatic imunity on it let me think counter spell shock terror all istants happen before your enchantment i really need to shut up now laters

***** It IS MOST CERTAINLY tournament legal. Not everyone plays type 2. This is usable in Type one Vintage and it is not even restricted.

-- By Clarence from Colorado on March 04, 2006

***** It's the walking worship.

-- By Rudolf from NY on August 28, 2004

***** While this is not tournament legal, you can make yourself the cheapest deck in magic by combining this card with diplomatic immunity. Only way you can lose is by running out of cards.
