Premiered at Origins '93 in July of that year, Magic: The Gathering; was first released to the general public on August 5, 1993. The Alpha set consisted of 295 cards. After the Alpha print run of 2.6 million cards, some corrections were made and the remaining 7.3 million cards were released as the Beta set (302 cards). With this complete set you get one non-foil version of each card. The complete list is here. We have personally inspected this hand collated set, to make sure it is complete, and the average condition of all the cards is in near-mint.

Of the 295 cards in the Alpha set, the most famous cards are: Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, and Mox Sapphire.

***** Alpha/Beta and the Urza's block is the best sets in magic that other sets will die trying but that won't happen.

**** I bought this set from Troll and Toad in November (2007). Most of the Power Nine and Dual Lands were played (not near mint minus as indicated) - but otherwise a nice piece of MTG history. I have since upgraded the played cards and acquired a few Alpha Starter Decks and Rulebooks to complete the NM/M set and plan to submit for grading later this year.
