| Description | Premiered at Origins ''93 in July of that year, Magic: The Gathering; was first released to the general public on August 5, 1993. The Alpha set consisted of 295 cards. After the Alpha print run of 2.6 million cards, some corrections were made and the remaining 7.3 million cards were released as the Beta set (302 cards).

If you knew then what you know now......
Hindsight is 20/20. I figured looking at the reviews there is apparently a review about every 5ish years on an Alpha booster so I thought I would put something down in print for this. I was lucky enough to pick up an Alpha pack this year for my graded vintage collection, it was the last pack I needed for my set. As far as data points, it was in excellent shape and went for $4,000.It is currently at PSA getting graded and it will be one of the three packs at the time of writing this graded in the world. Now how many of us would have stored some booster boxes away knowing what these go for now.....$150,000 a box??!

It is good that there is a possability of getting somthing amazingly good like a black lotus but i think its very pricy because there is a bigger chance of getting something bad.

I know of rare that doesn't pertain to the trading card games. A 1952 Topps baseball pack is worth at least $350,000.00 for the second series set.
