Not all that bad; he's still a pretty weak card, and most other Specters let you choose the card, or make the discard random. When you let your opponent choose, he/she might have something with madness or flashback, or a haakon or...something!

This card is great. Flying, haste, and hand destruction....What more can you ask for in a creature?

Blazing Specter is great addition to any deck that can cast him. Not only does he have flying and haste, he make the opponent discard cards which will give you a card advantage over your opponent, it could possibly win you the game. Overall I give this card a five because of its all out offense and because of its great improvement on its black cousin Abssyal Specter.
