Ertai may be costly, and weak, but his countering ability makes him a useful (to say the least) card to use. -- By Ramiro from Austin, Texas on October 01, 2001 |

If you have the mana to use his ability (which i normally do when hes in play) hes pretty useful. -- By Anonymous from New York, NY on January 12, 2002 |

Very nice card, great addition to a counter deck, not as good as ertai the corrupted, but the upside to this one is hes all one color and not multi. -- By Michael M from Sebring, FL on February 20, 2002 |

2 Blue 1 Colorless to play and 4 total mana to counter a spell? And its a 1/1. -- By Suiko from Pittsburgh, PA USA on November 11, 2002 |

Better than the corrupted, nice artwork and goes well in any blue deck because of the ability -- By Anonymous from ............. on November 12, 2002 |

Very cheap and much better than the corrupted because of him being one colour, costing less and his ability not requiring a sacrifice. The artworks much better too. -- By Anonymous from UK on December 20, 2002 |

Ertai is a nice card but not that usefull. Who in their right mind would play any good spells while you have 4 mana untapped to use the ability. He also can easily be killed by cards like lava dart. Ertai is good but I like Mundungu a whole of a lot better. -- By Anonymous from Mannassas, Va on February 28, 2003 |

AWESOME CARD!!!!! I've won many games with this card. -- By from on May 07, 2004 |

My favourite creature/legend/permanent. Ertai is the only source of infinite countering that is absolute and not requiring sacrificing, revealing cards, discarding cards, etc. I like to use a self-made strategy with Ertai, Temporal Adept, and Arcane Laboratory. Your opponent can never again cast any spells that wont be countered and you'll eventually clear his field; so long as you are carefull... -- By Zorn from Fl., U.S.A. on May 10, 2004 |

The main reason why he's got 5 stars, is that he is the only card who can infinately counter things without a sacrifice requirement...at least from the cards I've seen. His activation effect is expensive, but an ability as powerful as countering is worth the cost. He adds protection from unfriendly spells to both your creatures and you, and he can also stop opponents from summoning all but the creatures with counter protection. When I get him out, I gain quite a bit more control over what my opponent does. -- By rogonandi from Edmonton, AB Canada on July 16, 2007 |
