Cheap casting, cheap damage. Since this card in an instant, play it just as opponent is assessing personal damage from that lowly 1/1 creature that got through. -- By Anonymous from TN USA on May 10, 2002 |

I don't like this card it is just a bad Fire Ball. For this to damage a player then your creature has to get through. If you want it to hit a creture then you have to wait for the creature to block or attack it just doesn't have the versitility. -- By Bruce Daw from UT.Sandy on August 21, 2005 |

After Endless Scream was printed in Tempest, this card soon became a bit underrated if you wanted to increase your creatures' power. Anyway I still think the old Howl has its own advantages particularly when considering the surprise damage from an unblocked weenie. Also, black doesn't have too much large creature boosters so I value the Howl because of that, too. Oh yes, and black doesn't have Fireballs so you can't compare Howl with a Fireball mr. Daw... -- By Lord Titus from Jyväskylä, Finland on May 02, 2006 |
