really great card for a dark deck that needs some stength but its kind of expensive

Just Read the card. That is all it takes. The upkeep is worth it.

Although he can be really tough to get out (especially if you play two or more colors) the Pit Spawn is an evil addition to any black deck. Due to the fact that this puppy takes 3BLACK to put out, some Dark Rituals (WHICH 4 SHOULD BE IN EVERY BLACK DECK!) should get him out with ease. Another Drawback, is the upkeep of 2BLACK. Although it may seem potentially risky to pay an upkeep, also look at the fact that you take no damage if you fail to pay it- it's simply destroyed. Moreover, this fatty removes creatures from the game AND has first strike- a potent ability. Plus throw a Hermetic Study on him and you have INSTANT creature removal! Although he's expensive to play and requires an upkeep, Pit Spawn has potential in any black deck.
