Even with the drawback of getting hit for 2 life, this card is extremely good. I mean 3 mana for 4 damage with a little drawback, not bad right? Then people realized that it was blue ... it has never hit print since. -- By Yawgmoth from Rittman, OH USA on March 01, 2003 |

How can a card get any better? A BLUE damage spell? It was discontinued because it broke the color wheel.. -- By Anonymous from Olympia, WA on November 15, 2005 |

I'm still trying to figure out why this card is going for soo much, but anywho, its still good. Yeah it hurts you, but combined with its red counterpart Char, you can kill your opponent in just a huge fell swoop for very little mana. Not bad at all, not bad at all. -- By Charles Burns from Mesquite, TX USA on November 22, 2006 |

Blue burn!? It's a sign of the apcolypse! Repent! Repent! AAARRRGGGHHH!!
Ok. This card is just wow. 4 damage to anything for 3 mana? That better than what most of red can do! No wonder it was restricted. If only it was...um...cooler looking. Yeah. Nevermind. -- By Anonymous from Minneaplolis, MN USA on November 22, 2006 |

Critical card for X/U beater decks. Now that Char's gone from Standard, this is an efficient killer of Serra Angels, or just about anything. The drawback goes to its efficiency, but in a two-color Sligh like deck, this is a great card to prevent racing. -- By Will from High Point, NC USA on November 30, 2007 |

People keep comparing this to Char, from Ravnica block. Char was god awful. A red 3-mana 4-burn that burns you too? Terrible. This, on the other hand, is a blue 3-mana 4-burn that burns you too. Outstanding. In a color that often lacks direct damage win conditions, this is an absolutely excellent card. I keep at least 2 on sideboard in every blue deck I have. 5 stars. -- By Wesley from Huntsville, AL USA on April 14, 2008 |
