well, its tempting to rate this card four stars, but i have a personal rule of never rating sideboard cards higher than three. that being said , this baby has been sitting in my 1.5 mono red deck for four+ years now and its still going strong if not -er....heh. simplistic artwork that gets the job done and fits very well in the 'beta' or near begin nings of MTG which is kool. preferable over the 70ish motif of 'ice age' card 'pyroblast.' don't forget to pick up one or four for yours today! as if you need a reminder mages are cold, calculating, manipulative jerks of the worst order and there's very few cards better than yours truly to make things all nice and better........so quit yer' crying and pick up this highly affordable and classic card from the very beginnings of ...........you get the drift by now, right? 
A red counterspell? Sign me up.
