*** well, i've always kinda' liked this land and now, with the wave of bannings and restrictions i get to use this in my 1.5 mono"brown" deck. maximum mana is needed for kickbutt artifacts and after 'mishra's workshop,' 'city of traitors,' and 'crystal vein' you start to narrow down the choices. i play some "manlands" , as of this writing, 'mishra's factory' to get around counter decks and cards like 'oblivion stone.' although i really like the 'mirrodin' block land 'blinkmoth nexus' because it flys. now all that chitter-chatter is out of the way, i'm looking at four deck slots open in my mana(or land) base. now you could go with the 'invasion' block comes-into-play-tapped lands that "tap and sac" for two mana of two different colors. but, as of right now , i don't really need colored mana in my deck. just two mana. now, before you ask , i did try 'cloudpost' but it was too slow and left too much to chance. now this puppy, 'svyelunite temple' fits several different themes well, besides the main one of putting extra mana into my pool. its not available in foil(like my other old school lands) and it harks back to cheesy sci-fi movies from the '50's. or old school MTG, however you want to look at it. i believe the black mana land in this set('ebon stronghold') is probably, overall, the koolest. but for my money i'll go with "creature from the black lagoon" or at least his originial habitat. in conclusion, worth a second look and someone with a developed taste for "lindberger" cheese....................
