second turn, shut your opponent down for a turn or two, it gets worse if you play another tanglewire. why this card is not used more in extended i cannot explain for the life of me.... -- By devilmaycare from gainesville, FL USA on December 18, 2002 |

This fits into control/land destruction decks to really screw up your opponent. The reason why this little PEST would not be seen as much as the prior comment mentioned would be this >> you MUST tap 3 of your items, and then have that many LESS resources to use as well. Then you tap 2, and 1. If you can get some land destruction working for you, and then lay one of these......you could be facing and easy win. Especially since you've established a couple cards in play and your beating stick (opponent) has had some problems with your destructive nature. it may essentially give them no cards in play that can be used. -- By jb from NJ on March 18, 2006 |

This is a beautiful card. It combos with itself. PLay the wire, your apponent taps 4 permanents, on your turn remove a counter and tap three, one of which will be TANGLE WIRE. Hence, you're only tapping 2 "resources" 4 to 2 is pretty good. If that still bothers you you can sack it to Goblin Welder to prevent tapping of you permanents and raise a useful artifact. -- By Madtapper from Carlyle, IL on July 14, 2006 |
