Ho, ho, ho! My friends, this card is far more powerful than you might think. True, it is terrible by itsself, and it's even terrible in combination with just fungal bloom and night soil as Mr. Anonymous says. But in the context of a full-fledged saproling deck this bad boy acts as a valuable saproling producer. Add some other saproling effects like Nemata Grove Guardian and Verdeloth the ancient. Toss in some overruns or dare I say a Kamahl, Fist of Krossa to make your saprolings a frightening fighting fungus force. Yes this card deserves more credit as it helped pave the path for green swarm decks all across the globe. Thalid Devourer is a powerful ally for many a powerful mage. -- By Evan from Richmond, IN USA on September 10, 2005 |
